Akira: The Art of Sushi and Tepanyaki is a fresh new Japanese cuisine food and chill out hub in Makati City. Opened last March 08,2014, Akira Alphaland (Just behind The Columns Condominuim building, along Malugay street) offers a wide variety of great food and an array of Japanese wines. Great structure, interesting dishes plus fabulous music rolled up into one place.

I was lucky to be chosen to be one of the bloggers to try this new hub and had a catch up with my friends and met new ones. We were served the best dishes in the house starting off with their Maki, sushi, sashimi, and one of their best sellers, Tempura.

Akira’s teppanyaki chef amazed us with his skills in cooking the dish just in front of us! You can watch him do his stuff like your watching a performance in a stage. It’s very impressive i have to say and they are proud to showcase this to their guest as one of their main eye experience in the resto.

Dining is incomplete with out drinks so colorful glasses of various cocktails were also placed in our table.

Tummy space was still reserved for some desserts!

They also have a list of their dishes with their suggestion of the best Japanese whiskey/wine that will compliment your food.

While the other bloggers were out, I sneaked out and given the chance to speak with one of the great hands in the kitchen, Chef Peppy. She’s a graduate of Global Culinary and Hospitality Academy in Timog and now working side by side with 2 Teppanyaki cooks, 2 other chefs, 2 kitchen helpers, 1 dispatcher and their Head chef Chef Fernando Ortega. She’s the one mainly focused on after meal goodies and made our peach and mango dessert.
