Sophie’s Mom – Tuscanny. Mckinley Hill #HappyPlace

A Few days ago, my colleague – friend Hazel told me that there will be a new patesserie near our work place and the grand opening will be the following day. She did showed me the website and i was thrilled to be one of their first customers! Sad to say, we had to run an errand and wasnt able to be there on its grand opening. but hey, its sweets so after work, uhm.. a day after its soft launch, we head towards Tuscanny and looked for this fresh new  sweet hub find 🙂

Just a few walks from our office and cute pink umbrellas marked our spot! Sophie’s Mom!

I have to say, the place looks like a big strawberry short cake and with the pastel shades of the whole ambiance, you will surely enjoy eating there!

So going back to the sweet adventure of Shawn, Hazel and Glenn, we went in and oh… the place is cutenessoverload! its not your typical patesserie with ecclectic chandeliers and scarlet red carpets, its designed fit for kids who likes sweets and adults like us who wants to relive our childhood!

I was actually looking for something i can give to my partner who jsut got a promotion from work. I decided to get a red velvet cookie and a blueberry cupcake to go.

Image

The three of us settled outside and adored the facade. While Glenn and I were smoking outside, a very sophisticated woman glanced outside and saw us sitting around. I was asking Hazel if the woman was the owner and we werent sure if she is. “Maybe that’s her but just look different online”. yeah, i wasnt wearing ym eye glasses that time. We shared a smile and she was so sweet to come outside and ask us if it’s our first time there. We smiled and said yes and softly introduced outselves.

Ms Jody – Sophies Mom’s Partner, sat with us and had a little chitchat. I took the opportunity to ask her some details about their shop. She said that the  shop is well known for their red velvet cupcakes and spanish breads. ( they did share some free slices and i have to admit, its the best spanish bread i’ve ever tasted! it’s only 14php per piece and its all worth it. ) Ms Jody also mentioned that soon they will be offering brunches like french toasts, egg benedicts and a like from 9:30 am. Birthday party, baby showers and all sorts of gatherings and meetings are also welcome, they can offer a place good for 40 people! It was actually their 2nd day and they already have a prenup photoshoot soon featuring their citadel. that is how cute it is.

i couldnt help but ask if they will also be offering bigger cakes and she gave me a smile and said yes, round cakes will also be available soon and we can choose from the cakes they showcase on their website, give them a call and ask for the pick up day. sweet and easy!

After that very eloquent talk she even invited us to go back for a free cup of coffee day the next day in celebration of the real Sophie’s mom’s birthday. Ms Tonette. It was a real pleasant conversation and we had so much fun taking pictures of their store.

the blueberries were ozzing out with yumminess and the chesecake under is divine!

Image

no exxageration but it was so delicious! it’s not a sweet typical bluberry cheesecake we can buy in some well known coffee shop. The taste is balanced, not too sweet. Just right! and the crust, is also love love love!

Image

the red velvet cookie with cream cheese was also nice. i was able to taste the red velvet-ish texture and its very interesting to bite a cookie and taste like a bite of the real cake.

And my verdict

Location: 10 spoons

It’s just a few walk from our office and I find it very convinient. They have parking spaces nearby and there’s nothing more i can ask for.

Ambiance: 10 spoons

need not to say more because i really dont mind those vehicles passing by. the look was very tea-party-ish and pretty clean.

Employees: 9 spoons

It’s all beccause of Ms. Jody’s hospitality. though the staff needs to work on a little on their interpersonal skills, hey, it’s just their 2nd day when I went there so maybe soon they will develop.

Taste: 10 spoons

Basing it on those two sweets I tasted, perfection!

Value for money: 8 spoons

I find the price very reasonable because of the taste and the quality. But for others, they think that the cupcake is a bit smaller from the usual they can get from the grocery store.

Overall; 9 Spoons

DEFINITELY A HAPPY PLACE for you and your kids, for your party needs and sweet cravings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
